Goldenrod and Ginger Tea

With cold and flu season fast approaching, I thought it would be fitting to post a  great tea with our herb of the week, Goldenrod. I highly recommend serving it with a healthy dose of honey to bring it all together and to counteract the slight bitterness of the goldenrod, not to mention all the added benefits.

Goldenrod and Ginger Tea

  • 3 cups of water
  • 10-12 Slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 Lemon, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. Fresh Goldenrod (2-3 tsp dried)
  • Honey to desired sweetness

Add lemon and ginger slices to water and bring to a boil (simmer longer for a stronger flavor if desired). Add fresh goldenrod and remove from heat. Infuse for 15 minutes, strain and serve with honey.

  1. Never tried it myself, but I’ve heard that Solidago odora (Anise Scented Goldenrod) makes a superior tea.
